Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Leh | Acclimatization Day

Welcome to Leh, the heart of Ladakh! Upon your arrival at Leh Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Due to the high altitude of Ladakh (around 11,500 ft), it is important to take proper rest and allow your body to acclimatize to the thin air. Spend the day relaxing at the hotel, avoid any strenuous activity, and stay well hydrated. In the evening, if your health permits, you may take a short walk around the local market to get a glimpse of the culture and surroundings. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

Day 2

Leh Local Sightseeing

After a relaxing acclimatization day, get ready to explore the beauty of Leh. Begin your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, followed by a local sightseeing tour. Visit the famous Shanti Stupa, known for its stunning panoramic views of Leh city and surrounding mountains. Next, explore Leh Palace, a historic structure offering insights into Ladakh’s royal heritage. Continue your journey to the Hall of Fame, a museum maintained by the Indian Army showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers. You can also visit nearby monasteries like Thiksey Monastery, known for its impressive architecture and peaceful ambiance. Later, enjoy some free time exploring the local market for shopping and trying local cuisine. After a wonderful day of exploration, return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Leh.

Day 3

Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La

After an early breakfast, begin your journey from Leh to the beautiful Nubra Valley, passing through the iconic Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world (18,380 ft). Enjoy breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and winding roads along the way. On arrival in Nubra Valley, check in to your camp or hotel. Later, visit the famous Hunder Sand Dunes, where you can experience a unique cold desert landscape. You can also enjoy a camel ride on the rare double-humped Bactrian camels (at your own cost). In the evening, relax and soak in the peaceful surroundings of Nubra Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp/hotel in Nubra.

Day 4

Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake

After an early breakfast, check out from your hotel/camp in Nubra Valley and begin your journey towards the mesmerizing Pangong Lake. Enjoy a scenic drive through remote villages and rugged mountain landscapes, crossing streams and high-altitude roads along the way. Upon arrival at Pangong Lake, be captivated by its crystal-clear blue waters that change shades throughout the day. The lake, situated at an altitude of around 14,270 ft, is one of the most beautiful attractions in Ladakh and stretches from India to Tibet. Spend some peaceful time by the lakeside, soaking in the breathtaking views and capturing memorable moments. In the evening, check in to your camp near the lake. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp near Pangong Lake.

Day 5

Pangong Lake to Leh

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over Pangong Lake, where the water reflects changing shades with the first light of the day. After breakfast, check out from the camp and begin your return journey to Leh. Drive back through scenic mountain routes and high-altitude passes, enjoying the mesmerizing landscapes along the way. You may also visit popular spots like Chang La Pass (one of the highest motorable roads) and take short breaks for photography. Upon arrival in Leh, check in to your hotel and relax after the long journey. You can spend the evening at leisure, exploring the local market or resting at the hotel. Day 6

Leh Monastery Tour

After breakfast, get ready to explore the spiritual and cultural side of Ladakh with a monastery tour around Leh. Begin your day by visiting the famous Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh, known for its beautiful architecture and peaceful surroundings. Next, visit Thiksey Monastery, which resembles the Potala Palace of Tibet and offers stunning panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Continue to Shey Palace, the former royal residence of Ladakh kings, famous for its giant Buddha statue. Throughout the day, experience the calm atmosphere, prayer chants, and unique Buddhist culture of the region. In the evening, return to Leh and enjoy some leisure time exploring the local market or relaxing at your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.

Day 7

Departure from Leh

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Leh. It’s time to bid farewell to the beautiful landscapes of Ladakh and the unforgettable memories you’ve created during your journey. You will be transferred to Leh Airport for your onward journey. Take back wonderful experiences of serene lakes, majestic mountains, and peaceful monasteries. This marks the end of your trip.

- Due to high altitude in Ladakh (Leh is around 11,500 ft), proper acclimatization is very important. Avoid heavy activities on the first day.
- Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol or smoking during the initial days to prevent altitude sickness.
- Carry warm clothes at all times, as temperatures can drop suddenly, even during summer.
- Be respectful of local customs, traditions, and monasteries. Dress modestly while visiting religious places.
